Vermont appears to be doing pretty well so far in the economic stimulus sweepstakes. There’s about $720 million coming our way through various Federal formulas, and several hundred million dollars more possible in grants that will be awarded competitively.

Tom Evslin is a retired high-tech entrepreneur and one-time Transportation Secretary who’s been tapped by Governor Douglas as the state’s Chief Recovery Officer. Susan Bartlett is a state Senator from LaMoille County who chairs the Senate Appropriations Committee. They spoke with VPR’s Jane Lindholm about stimulus fund projects.
