Milking a cow by hand is a skill that many Vermonters used to possess, but is less in demand today, unless you’re interested in a very small scale dairy.
As part of Vermont Edition’s Summer School series, VPR’s Jane Lindholm spent some time with Lindsay Harris at the Family Cow Farmstand in Hinesburg to learn the ins and outs of hand-milking.
