Vermont State police say skeletal remains found in Charleston last week are those of a young man who disappeared in 2006.

Police notified the family of Nathan Currie today.

It has not been determined how or why he died.

The 18-year-old was reported missing by his family in July of 2006. On Friday, a hunter found what he thought were human remains in the woods.

The office of the chief medical examiner in Burlington analyzed the bones and on Wednesday positively identified them as Currie’s.
