Print More

This week on State of the Re:Union, Host Al Letson tells the story of Bayard Rustin, a little
known pivotal figure in the civil rights movement in the 40s and 50s.
Rustin counseled Martin Luther King, Jr. on the use of non-violence.  He also helped to
engineer the March on Washington and frame the Montgomery bus boycott.

Letson brings us back in time to tell Rustin’s story through interviews,
vintage tape and music.
