I-91 And More Roads Closed Across State As Irene Rain Pours

Interstate 91  Vermont South from Rockingham Exit 6 to Exit 5 Westminster is closed due to flooding.  Vermont State police are warning drivers to stay off roads, unless its necessary to evacuate.  This is a list of roads closed by early Sunday afternoon, compiled by Vermont Emergency Management.

Arlington: Hill Farm Road and Dunham Road

Bradford: Wright’s Hill Road andRoute 5

Brattleboro:Westgate Drive Bridge has damage

East Montpelier:  Route 14 at Stoney Corners

Derby: Route 105

Fairlee:Route 5

Guilford: Guilford Center Road, Campbell Road, Slate Rock Road

Huntington:Sherman Hollow Road

Jericho:Skunk Hollow

Ludlow: Route 103, Route 100, Main Street

Marlboro:Augur Hill Road, Adams Cross Road, Higly Hill Road, Grant Road,Butterfield Road

Milton: Interstate 89 guard rails starting to wash out near Lamoille River, both north and south still open but one lane closed southbound.

Mount Holly: Route 155

Newfane: Baker Brook Road,Dover Road

Newport:Route 5

Readsboro: Route 8,Route 100

Rockingham: Westminster Road

Shrewsbury: Route 103b

Thetford: Route 5

Townshend: Route 35/Athens Road

Wilmington: Route 100,Route 9

Winhall: Mountain Road, Lower Taylor Hill Road

West Newbury: Tyler Farm Road

There are likely more around the state, please respect all detours.

If you see water rising it is best to evacuate early before it is ordered.
