Across the state Saturday, Vermonters have been trying to lend a hand to flood victims. Red
Cross officials in the state say that — as generous as Vermonters are
being — donations of materials goods are difficult to sort and match
with people who need them.
U.S. Forest Service has improvement plans for some of its land in five towns in
the White River Valley. The
goal is to improve wildlife habitat, and networks of hiking trails and roads in
the area of the Green Mountain National
known as the Upper White River Area.
