Vermont’s Congressional delegation expressed relief at Thursday’s Supreme Court
ruling, hoping to now focus on
the implementation of President Obama’s Affordable Care Act without the cloud of legal uncertainty.

House. He said in his announcement speech Monday that Congressman Peter Welch has not done enough to
curb the growing national debt.
Congressman Peter Welch says he wants to be part of a
bipartisan effort to pass legislation that will significantly reduce the
federal budget deficit. Welch says the plan will require both new tax revenues
and cuts in domestic spending programs.
Representative Peter Welch has been speaking out about what he says
is the necessity of keeping interest rates on Stafford Loans from doubling, and the greater issues of
student loan debt and college affordability.
Peter Welch wants a bipartisan group of his colleagues from rural areas to
fight the U.S. Postal Service plan to close mail processing centers. Welch also wants to preserve
mail delivery on Saturdays.
Peter Welch is compiling stories about student debt. He
met with students at UVM yesterday, some of whom are working multiple jobs and
studying full time as they accumulate student loan debt.
