Freelance journalist Nicholas Schmidle traveled to Pakistan when the Taliban was gaining strength. He met with leaders of the Taliban regularly and sent compelling reports back to the US.
Schmidle spoke recently at Brooks Memorial Library in Brattleboro about his work in Pakistan. His talk was part of the Vermont Humanities Council First Wednesday Series.
