College newspapers are training grounds for journalists, and they can play a strong role in informing and connecting the campus. VPR’s Jane Lindholm talks with student editors of The Cynic at the University of Vermont, The Defender and The Echo at Saint Michael’s College, Basement Medicine at Johnson State College, and The Norwich Guidon at Norwich University about reporting campus news in print and online, and why the tradition of the college paper still matters – to future reporters, and their audiences.
