Two Vermont towns approve Bush-Cheney indictment articles

Voters in two southern Vermont towns are calling for the indictment of President Bush and Vice President Cheney for violating the Constitution.

Everybody knows the vote is more symbolic than substantive, but organizer Kurt Daims says the one thing that people can take from this is that it can be done.

Daims says he hopes Bush and Cheney are never arrested in Brattleboro; he wants them impeached.

In Marlboro, a motion identical to that of Brattleboro was introduced from the floor of the town meeting.

Brattleboro Town Clerk Annette Cappy says the town attorney doesn’t have the authority to draw up any arrest papers, but the proper steps were taken to put the issue on the ballot so it had to be considered.
