The Department of Fish and Wildlife says that Lake Champlain attracts *twice as much fishing activity during the winter as during the summer.  It’s especially popular up in the northern parts of the big lake.  That may not surprise if you been out on the ice recently or at least seen the shanties.

Vermont’s smaller lakes are also an attraction for intrepid ice fishermen – and women. In fact, a workshop for women interested in winter fishing is being offered this weekend at Lake Bomoseen, near Castleton.
