(Host) As the record floodwaters on Lake Champlain recede, American Red Cross officials are moving to Colchester to help people around the lake.

For the last three weeks, the operational headquarters of the Vermont and New Hampshire Valley American Red Cross has been in Barre, which was hit by flooding late last month.

The organization’s disasters services personnel are asking people affected by spring flooding to contact them if they think they might benefit from assistance.

The Red Cross says they’re ready to offer people tools, supplies and food if needed.
