Vermonters and New Yorkers will get a chance to view six possible designs for a new Lake Champlain Bridge linking their two states.

The 80-year-old bridge was demolished a week ago, after it was deemed unsafe and closed in October.

Vermont and New York transportation officials will present designs for a new bridge at a public meeting tonight in Vergennes.

The event will give residents who did not attend an earlier meeting in Ticonderoga a chance to hear and discuss details of the designs and offer opinions on which they like best.

The two states are taking public input on the future bridge until January.

The meeting will be held at the Addison County Eagle building in Vergennes at 6 o’clock tonight.
