A judge will hear a challenge today to a psychiatrist’s finding that school shooting suspect Christopher Williams is competent to stand trial.
The 29-year-old is accused in the Aug. 24, 2006 shooting rampage in Essex that killed two people and wounded two others.
In a hearing yesterday, prosecutors told Judge Geoffrey Crawford that expert Robert Linder found Williams can understand the proceedings against him and help in his own defense.
Crawford set a hearing for today to hear the objections of Williams’ lawyers.
Williams is to go on trial July 7. He’s charged with murder and attempted murder.
