Three months into their second year without a contract, Poultney teachers and the school board have reached a tentative agreement.

Issues that have separated the two sides include teaching conditions, salaries and health care costs.

The 50 teachers and other staff in the Poultney schools have been working under a contract that expired after the 2005-2006 school year.

Earlier this school year teachers said they would strike if an agreement could not be reached in a timely fashion.

Details of the agreement have not been released.
