Vermont State Police say they want to hear from an unidentified man who gave a 5-year-old Westminster girl a ride last week after she was mistakenly allowed to walk home from school.
No harm came to Mariyah Hoisington, but her mother and police are hoping whoever it was will come forward.
The girl was sent home from Westminster Center School on Jan. 26, taking a bus and then walking to her home, which was locked and unoccupied. She walked to her bus stop, where a man in a gray truck picked her up and apparently drove her back to school, where she turned up hysterical.
Vermont State Police Lt. Rick Hopkins wants the man to come forward and ease the mind of the girl’s mother, Jessica M. Clark.
