NH Senate committee to hold hearing on same sex marriage

A state Senate committee is holding a hearing on whether New Hampshire should allow same sex marriage.

Last month, the state House voted narrowly to pass the bill.

Governor John Lynch opposes same sex marriage but has not said specifically that he would veto it.

Two years ago, the Legislature approved, and Lynch signed, civil unions for gay and lesbian couples.

Many people are expected to testify at Wednesday’s hearing and attend rallies outside the State House.
