Green Mountain Power is seeking to turn a former landfill managed by the city of Rutland into a solar field.
The utility has asked for a 25-year lease on the property with an option to renew. It’s offered the city a flat fee. The amount has yet to be disclosed.
The Rutland Herald reports the utility presented its offer to the Board of Aldermen yesterday. The board referred the issue to the city’s Community and Economic Development Committee.
