Maine regulators gave the green light, but Vermont’s Public Service Board said "no" this week to a financial re-organization plan by Fairpoint Communications. New Hampshire regulators have yet to make a decision, but without approval from New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont, the North-Carolina based company can’t go ahead with its plans to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy. That could have serious implications for thousands of Fairpoint customers in Vermont.
