A 2-day conference on The Law and Politics of Marriage Equality gets underway today at the Vermont Law School in South Royalton, before the venue shifts to the University of Vermont Friday. The conference examines Vermont’s unique recent history in crafting laws regarding who can legally marry, and how those changes are reflected or rejected in the nation and the rest of the world.

Among those taking part is Felicia Kornbluh, Director Women’s and Gender Studies at UVM. She visited our VPR studios recently and says there’s a special reason for talking about these issues now.
