Among the many luminaries featured at the recent Burlington Book Festival were heavy literary hitters Russell Banks and Joyce Carol Oates.
The festival, though, was dedicated to an author closer to home in Vermont — Howard Frank Mosher.
Mosher is the author of 10 books, 3 of which have been made into films, and his latest novel is called “On Kingdom Mountain.”
Howard Frank Mosher lives in the Northeast Kingdom town of Irasburg, and he recently visited our VPR studios to talk about “On Kingdom Mountain” — the inspiration for the fictional mountain tale, he says, came to him one day while hiking on the real Lowell Mountain in Irasburg:
If you’d like to meet the author, Howard Frank Mosher will be reading from his book tonight at the Ilsley Public Library in Middlebury at 7 p.m.
