Gubernatorial campaign rhetoric heating up

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Gaye Symington is having none of Governor Jim Douglas’ criticisms that she’s standing in the way of economic growth in the state.

Symington is responding to remarks to that effect from Douglas by saying he’s just trying to shift the blame away from himself for Vermont’s slow economy.

Douglas maintains that Symington and her fellow Democrats in the Legislature have sought to increase regulation and taxation, which he calls impediments to economic growth.

Symington replies that the governor has been all talk and little no action on improving the state’s economy.
