(Host) Emergency management officials are concerned about several areas of the state. Dave Mace is with the emergency operations center in Burlington:

(Mace) "I think right now the three area that we’re most concerned about are Waterbury, Montpelier and Rutland, not only because all three are significant population centers but sustained some flooding damage, but they’re also locations of significant state office complexes and some of those have been affected by flooding.

(Host) Mace says crews are working to ascertain the level of damage and prioritize repairs:

(Mace) "Bridge inspectors, inspectors from the fire protection services will be fanning out across the state to assess the damage."

(Host) Vermont Emergency Management itself was affected by flooding in Waterbury – they operations center relocated to FEMA offices in Burlington overnight.
