For naturalist and author Mary Holland, natural wonders abound all year ’round.  The spry 64-year old likes to wander through the woods near her house in Hartland without regard to trail or mud or overturned trees.  She’s most at home in the forest and is a prodigious photographer and chronicler of nature.  Her lifelong obsession with the natural world has culminated in a big glossy book called Naturally Curious: A Photographic Field Guide and Month-by-Month Journey through the Fields, Woods, and Marshes of New England.

Holland took Vermont Edition host Jane Lindholm for a walk in the woods to discover the secrets that nature reveals during November’s "stick season."
