(Host) Some of the people who have been pushing for the impeachment of President Bush and Vice President Cheney have a new tactic.

They’re calling for both to be indicted.

Kurt Daims says about a dozen people are organizing a petition drive in Brattleboro to get the issue on the Town Meeting Day ballot.

Daims says if they’re successful on the petition drive, voters would be asked whether an indictment should be issued.

(Daims) “According to the initiative, the town attorney should draft an indictment and the town police should arrest Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney if they come close enough.”

(Host) Anyone trying to get a question on the Town Meeting Day ballot must collect the signatures of at least five percent of Brattleboro’s voters – or about 440 voters.

Petition organizers have until January 24th to collect signatures. Town Meeting Day is on March fourth this year.
