A Windham County town is
planning to mark the anniversary of Tropical Storm Irene by remembering the
loss of a local icon – the historic Bartonsville Covered
Bridge, which was swept away by floodwaters.
Mobile homes were hit particularly hard by the flooding last spring and during Tropical Storm Irene. There are now efforts underway to come
up with a better financing model for mobile home owners and to design and build a mobile home that is energy-efficient and still affordable.
Vermont’s tourism industry is looking to bounce back this foliage season, after
Tropical Storm Irene. Though certain sections of the state are still devastated, Vermont’s Commissioner of Tourism says Vermont is open for business.
