Site work is under way in Burlington on what will become a new residence hall that will be able to accommodate over 400 University of Vermont students.

The apartment-style complex will be privately financed, owned and managed.

The five-acre site is just east of UVM’s Redstone residence-hall campus and west of university athletic fields. Plans call for an apartment-style complex, with two wings of four and five stories, each with 72 units.

The apartments will be reserved for juniors, seniors and graduate students.

The Burlington Free Press says construction is due to be finished next year.
