Woman Unhurt After Car Collides With Bear

Vermont State Police say a woman was not injured when her car collided with a 100-pound black bear that ran out into the road.

Police say 41-year-old Dawn Marie Nicholson of Brandon was heading north on Route 7 in Salisbury at about 55 mph Monday morning.

The bear ran out in front of her. Nicholson’s car collided with the animal, which died.

No tickets or warnings were issued to Nicholson.
