Vermont State Police say a woman claiming she was run off the road ended up being charged with leaving the scene of an accident and possessing marijuana.
Police said they responded to a complaint by 22-year-old Melissa Guttilla of Highgate saying she was the victim of an accident. A trooper found a damaged mailbox from the crash.
The trooper also said while at her home, he smelled marijuana and found some marijuana plants.
Guttilla and two family members were arrested on marijuana charges. Melissa Guttilla was charged with leaving the scene of a crash.
