Snow fell across much of the region last night, and it’s causing scattered power outages around the state.

Central Vermont Public Service is reporting nearly 2,000 customers without power, the majority of those in Franklin County. Outages are also affecting Rutland, Bennington, Chittenden and Lamoille Counties.

Vermont Electric Co-operative says it’s working on over 700 outages in Hinesburg and Westford. The company says they expect to restore power by mid-morning.

Heavy snow fell across higher elevations last night. There is one school closing in Essex County New York, and two school delays in Franklin County of Vermont.
