The January thaw is about to become a distant memory as a nor’easter bears down on northern New England.

A winter storm watch is in effect for most of Maine and New Hampshire and parts of Vermont with snow expected this morning.

The National Weather Service says southern and central Vermont could get up to 6 inches of snow, and coastal New Hampshire will likely see to 5 to 9 inches, while Maine’s southern coast is expected to see 4 to 8 inches of snow.

State Police in Brattleboro say Interstate 91 between Exits 2 and 3 Northbound is closed due to an accident. They are asking motorists to please avoid the area and slow down.
