Congressman Peter Welch says his web site, www.welch.house.gov, can help you get your tax refund.
The Internal Revenue Service says an estimated 162 Vermonters are owed refunds totaling $75,000, or about 460 dollars on average.
Last week, Welch’s office identified a Vermonter owed a refund by contacting a family member in Barre. She used the IRS’ “Where’s My Refund” tool, the one linked to Welch’s web site, to provide the IRS with a new address to receive her refund check of over $700.
Nationally, 115,478 taxpayers have unclaimed tax refund checks worth over $110 million.
