Congressman Peter Welch is traveling to Iraq this week.
Welch will be visiting U.S. troops serving in Iraq as part of a congressional delegation organized by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
The group will also examine the military and political situation in the country and check the status of reconstruction projects. The delegation will then travel to Lebanon and Jordan to better understand the Iraqi refugee crisis in the region.
It’s not Welch’s first trip overseas – he visited Iraq and Afghanistan last March.
