Officials have lifted a weight limit on trucks using a temporary ferry between Addison, Vermont and Crown Point, New York.

The had imposed the weight and axle restrictions when the new temporary ferry opened last month following the demolition of the Lake Champlain bridge in December.

Vermont Transportation Secretary David Dill says truckers may now use the ferry in the same capacity as they used the bridge.

The agency also said a second ferry slip has been built for vehicles to board and drive off the ferry more efficiently.
