(Host) Weathersfield was one of the communities holding Town Meeting business last night.

87 people turned out for the floor portion of the meeting, deciding not to debate a motion on a non-binding resolution that calls for the Impeachment of President Bush. Voters turned back the motion to debate that issue on a 60 to 27 vote.

Moderator Graham Hunter argued the motion was out of order because it should have been warned prior to the meeting, based on its potential to be both significant and controversial.

Few other items on the agenda prompted much discussion other than the purchase of highway equipment and improvements to the library septic system. Election of town officers and most town budget items in Weathersfield will be voted by Australian ballot today.
