(Host) Health care companies are among the handful of businesses that have been able to expand, despite the recession.

Choice Care Card is one of them. Choice Care helps employers lower their health insurance rates.

Employers buy high deductible policies. Then they give their workers an account administered by Choice Care to cover many of the costs that aren’t paid by traditional insurance.

It’s an option that’s been very popular and Choice Care has grown to the point that it needs to hire almost two dozen more people at its office in Waterbury.

Jay Hunter is president of Choice Care.

(Hunter) "My mantra has always been when there’s a downturn, if there’s a recession, we’re just not going to choose to participate. Even if things look bad, now is the time to go out and start hustling.”

(Host) Hunter says he expects to fill the jobs over the next few weeks. The Waterbury office works with clients throughout the Northeast and Middle Atlantic states.
