Wal-Mart criticized for forcing suppliers overseas

Several members of Congress are bashing Wal-Mart — the world’s largest retailer.
They say it is so obsessed with cutting costs that it treats its employees badly and maintains trade practices that cost Americans jobs.

Vermont Congressman Bernard Sanders says he could “go on for a few hours” about why he doesn’t like Wal-Mart.

Sanders and other members of Congress say the Arkansas company forces suppliers to move overseas.

Wal-Mart says the critics are misinformed. A company spokesman says the stores help meet the needs of low-income workers.
