The debate over the 787 billion dollar federal stimulus package pits those who see it as an ineffective and ultimately damaging effort to revive the economy against those who argue only government had the resources to do what was necessary to avert disaster.
Justin Wolfers is associate professor of business and public policy at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Jeffrey Miron is director of undergraduate studies at Harvard University. The two are in town for a University of Vermont debate on the federal stimulus. They spoke with VPR’s Jane Lindholm about the debate.
