Vermont has the highest number of libraries per capita in the nation, and they’re busier than ever.  Martha Reid is the State Librarian.  Jerry Carbone is the Director at Brattleboro’s Brooks Memorial Library.  Cindy Karasinski is the Director at Lyndonville’s Cobleigh Library.  They spoke with VPR’s Jane Lindholm about the demand for services in the current economy and why higher circulation numbers don’t necessarily translate into more funding.
