VT Edition: Making Ice Wine

As temperatures turn frosty, many of our regional wineries begin producing Ice Wine.  The decadent, sweet, dessert wine requires grapes to be frozen while they are pressed, and because yields can be so low, a typical bottle, about half the size of a regular wine bottle, costs around sixty dollars.  At Boyden Valley Winery in Cambridge, vintner Dave Boyden is in his fourth year of producing the specialty.

Some of the other Vermont vineyards that produce Ice Wine include: Lincoln Peak Vineyard, Shelburne Vineyard, and Snow Farm Vineyard.
