Excitement in New Hampshire is at a fever pitch as the state heads into tomorrow’s first in the nation primary. That enthusiasm has drawn many Vermonters across the Connecticut River to join in the campaigns. Scott McCarty is a senior at UVM who’s from Brattleboro. He’s using his winter break to campaign for Hillary Clinton. Dennis Delaney is a retired St. Michael’s College professor and former Chittenden County Senator. He’s volunteering for John McCain. Matt Dunne is a former 2-term Windsor County Senator. He was part of a delegation of Vermont leaders who traveled to New Hampshire this weekend with Ben Cohen and handed out free Ben and Jerry’s ice cream to build momentum for the John Edwards campaign. They spoke with VPR’s Jane Lindholm about campaigning in New Hampshire.
