It appears that there’s an aquifer under Bellows Falls filled with water that is warmer than normal. Now the village trustees have voted to explore the site and see if the warm water could be used to heat and cool buildings. Meddie Perry is a senior hydro-geologist with VHB-Pioneer. He’s leading the team that will be investigating possible sites for drilling. VPR’s Jane Lindholm visited him at his office the other day to find out more about this geothermal source.
