Earmarks are spending measures that send federal dollars to specific state projects. They’re often added under cover of darkness, and don’t get debated on the floor. But they’re important revenue generators for local projects. And it’s part of the job of our elected politicians in Washington to support our local economy. John Gregg of the Valley News has been looking into the earmarks that send money our way. He spoke with VPR’s Jane Lindholm about what he found.
