Last year the sixteen member programs of the Vermont Network Against Domestic and Sexual Violence served more than 8 thousand victims of domestic violence. A bill just introduced in the legislature hopes to help victims in crisis and increase funds for prevention programs. Dianne Jabar is the Legal Issues Coordinator for the Vermont Network Against Domestic and Sexual Violence. Winona Ward is the founder of an organization called "Have Justice Will Travel," which provides services to battered low-income women and their children. They spoke with VPR’s Jane Lindholm about the new bill and its implications.
