For more than two decades, teenagers at Montpelier High School have been working on a project to clean up the Winooski River. It started with old-fashioned elbow grease – hauling tires and other debris out of the water and off the banks of the river. Bill Haines is a retired social studies teacher from the school. Jon Anderson is a Montpelier Representative. They spoke with VPR’s Jane Lindholm about the program.
