There are about 4000 words that are used differently in the United Kingdom than they are here in the US.  So in honor of the Boxing Day holiday we wanted to explore some of those differences.

Christopher Davies has written a book on the subject, called "Divided by a Common Language: A Guide to British and American English."  He lives half the year here in Vermont.  He spoke with VPR’s Jane Lindholm about the differences in British and American English.
