You won’t find them there now, but Lake Champlain used to be full of eels. The American eel disappeared from the lake in the 1980s. Miss them? Well, some people do. Biologists in Quebec and biodiversity advocates at the Nature Conservancy in Vermont are trying to bring them back. Reporter Candace Page has been following this slippery story and spoke with VPR’s Jane Lindholm about the progress.
