Canada’s top stories of the year parallel America’s in some ways.  For example, the economy and Afghanistan have been much in the news.  But other developments have been unique to Canada, like the Prime Minister terminating (‘prorogueing’) Parliament to avoid a no-confidence vote – and the failed effort to bring another hockey franchise to the country.

VPR’s Steve Zind  talks with Dr. Paul Martin, Director of the University of Vermont’s Canadian Studies Program and Jeffrey Ayres, Chair of the Political Science Department and expert on Canadian politics from St. Michaels College.
