The Vermont Frost Heaves are two for two — two years in existence and two American Basketball Association championships.
The Heaves defeated the San Diego Wildcats 87-84 yesterday in Quebec City for their second straight league title.
It was a close game, as the Wildcats closed to within two, 84-82, with a minute left.
Heaves coach Will Voigt says he’s amazed that the team was able to repeat despite a series of injuries during the season.
Yesterday’s victory followed Saturday night’s 106-100 semifinal win over Texas.
Members of the Frost Heaves will be on hand to greet fans tonight at 5 p.m. at the National Guard Armory in Berlin.
