The Vermont Symphony Orchestra is midway through its annual summer tour.

The orchestra was founded in 1934, with the idea of bringing symphonic music to the state’s mostly rural audiences.

Although the VSO doesn’t have a concert hall to call home, it continues to perform in a broad range of settings around the state.

And the orchestra has a strong educational outreach, with programs specifically designed to instill a lifelong appreciation of classical music.

Joining us for a behind-the-scenes take on the VSO is Executive Director Alan Jordan.
